Early Flowers are Waking UP

Despite the dull days, here come the early flowers:

The Helebore in the garden

and the mini-daffodils

Snow drops by the banks of the canal

The Shannon is swollen - but full of energy too.......as is Connie, red Border Collie, even old Huddie is on the march

January 2018 - a cold one!

So it rained .... and rained some more and got pretty cold but don't let that stop you!

So we decided to go to Fore, Co. Westmeath and look at its "Seven Wonders"
Very atmospheric indeed.

A Reminder of this Xmas bling

Did not get a tree - with cut down or growing - this year for various reasons.
Instead put some branches in a pot filled with white pebbles and adorned them with little gold balls and silver ornament and tinsel all of which have been around for many years.
Not a great photo below - it actually looked pretty good especially at night with its white lights on.

The holly in this wreath was really vicious - had to wear gloved to make the wreath.

A Little Snow

There was indeed a little snow this winter , early December 2017. Not for Christmas but it set the season none the less. It was short-lived but made some nice scenes while it lasted.
